New for The Perth Mint this masterfully crafted 2 kilo coin celebrates the koala, one of Australia’s most beloved native animals, in 99.99% pure silver. Struck in high relief, this release has been ‘antiqued’ to give a unique and highly appealing finish that accentuates the detail of its artistry.
The coin is struck by The Perth Mint from 2 kilos of 99.99% pure silver.
Issued as Australian legal tender under the Currency Act 1965, the coin has on its obverse the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination.
The design depicts an adult koala doing what this iconic marsupial enjoys most - sleeping in a eucalyptus tree surrounded by gumnuts, gum leaves and gum blossoms. The design also includes the inscription AUSTRALIAN KOALA and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 200 of these Australian Koala 2018 2 Kilo Silver Antiqued High Relief Coins.
Accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity, the coin sits within a stunning clear casing and decorative black wooden presentation case.
