The Australian Kookaburra is a sought-after coin series featuring annual designs of our iconic ‘laughing’ bird. In 2022, four privy mark issues of a coloured variant will be issued to mark ANDA Money Expo events in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

Platypus privy mark

The Sydney Money Expo ANDA Special portrays a kookaburra perched on an ornamental garden bath with agapanthus in the background. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the design includes a coloured privy mark representation of a platypus, a furry aquatic creature with webbed feet and a duck-like bill that is the animal emblem of New South Wales.
